I strive to make your session a safe and welcoming place for all shapes, sizes, colors, and types of love.

My name is Martina (she/ her), I am a wife, fur baby mom, photographer, storyteller, hobby gardener & creative soul. I love to tame lions, ride unicorns, and celebrate “Talk like a pirate” Day every year on September 19th! Life at our house is geeky and unconventional.
I have a passion for all things old and rustic. I am addicted to craft supplies, all things DIY, and I am a firm believer in fairy tales, happy endings included.
I also admit to a slight obsession with dogs, especially my Newfoundland girl Athena. Chances are if we met prior to you visiting my website, she was probably by my side.
I am always in for some out of the ordinary ideas. So please feel free to share your thoughts and ideas with me.

In our living room, we have a sign that reads “This home is built on love and shenanigans” and that pretty much sums it up for our family. We love each other dearly, strive on shenanigans, and could not live without each other.
My husband is the constant in my life! He is my rock, encourages me, and makes me strive to be the best I can be. We met back in Germany when he was stationed with the US Air Force in Ramstein. And it has been an exciting journey ever since.
Our home tells our story. You will find pictures of people, places, and moments that have touched our hearts and that we want to remember forever. Walking the hallway I see beautiful framed images of my hometown Schleswig in Germany. The living room with pictures of our parents, siblings and their families has us thinking of them daily. Beautiful photobooks on shelves and tables around the house invite us to relive moments that made our hearts beat faster and still give us the fuzzy feelings. Moments that have passed but won’t be forgotten.

Something else
I am originally from Northern Germany and home looks much like Illinois. Flat with skies for days and lots of agriculture. I love it here. Our family made a brief excursion to North Carolina but returned because we love the land, the people and yes, the four seasons here in Illinois!

While it has been a while since we came to the US, German black bread and cheese are still one of my favourite foods. I have learned to bake my own bread and found some great local places to buy cheese and German style cold cuts as well.

I am a paper crafter and love to make my own greeting cards. I believe in sending handwritten notes and I love getting snail mail myself. If you want to see some of my paper crafts check out @ink_paper_scissors_creations on Instagram.

Whenever I am out and about scouting new locations or revisiting old ones my girl is by my site. We both enjoy this time together for different reasons but it gives us both peace of mind and lets us recharge.

From a very early age we started taking pictures together.
Photography has become an activity we bonded over.
